SARASOTA – A Suncoast nonprofit led by women is coming off a banner year for fundraising, and the group is getting 2016 off to a delicious start.
Designing Daughters of Sarasota is made up of young women professionals in the community.
In 2015, the group raised $43,000 to help 13 other nonprofits.
On Tuesday, January 12th, 21 area restaurants have teamed up with a new fundraiser from Designing Daughters called “Dining For the Difference.”
More than 1,000 reservations are on the books for the dining fundraiser, but walk-ins will also be added to the cause. The restaurants will donate 15 percent of food and drink sales. Libby’s, Pacific Rim, Michael’s On East and Shore are among the restaurants taking part.
Designing Daughters will select nonprofits to award the proceeds through a grant process later this year, president Jen Rust said.
