Last month, Grapevine went “All In” with the team at Bowersox Air Conditioning & Heating, stepping into their world and seeing firsthand what it takes to keep homes cool and customers comfortable across the Suncoast. From the warehouse to the front office and technicians out in the field, their company has many moving parts – and we not only had a fun outing, but the day highlighted just how much Bowersox prioritizes the people they serve.

Time to segue into April… and we’re flipping the script.

Our very own President/CEO, Allison Imre, sat down with Bowersox’s General Manager, Armando Diaz, to hear their team’s side of the experience, as a client, and share a few unexpected insights about their industry, market expansion and the communities they help every day. For us here at Grapevine, “All In” isn’t just a yearlong campaign phrase – it’s how we show up to solve problems, and how our clients feel on the road to further success. Here are three takeaways, straight from the Bowersox team.

Takeaway No. 1: For Bowersox, Going ‘All In’ is Always a Must – and Has a Clear Meaning

“Just being there, being honest, being truthful – communication. Communication is everything. If we make a mistake – we’re human, we make mistakes – it’s how you react to those mistakes or how you rebound from them. Giving [the customer] a great quality product at a fair and reasonable price, so that everybody can afford it.

And be there when they need us. It’s not a feel-good thing. Who likes to have their air conditioner break? It stinks. … Reputation is everything, and if we say we’re going to do it, we do it – and if it’s not right, we make it right.”

Takeaway No. 2: The Biggest Challenge is Building the Right Team

“Having the right team, aligning with the right team – that’s really the thing. Without our team, we can’t do anything. The team is everything. They’re the ones that answer the phones, pay the bills, touch the clients, fix it, do duct work underneath houses or in the attic in a hundred degrees.

Just finding and recruiting top-level team members to take care of our customers together – like-minded team members.”

Takeaway No. 3: Stick to Your Standards… Always.

“You want to underpromise and overdeliver consistently. And if we can’t do that, I don’t want to make a statement or do anything that I can’t fulfill. And good customer service, I look at every situation as a consumer. You know, I treat every client like they’re my mom – and I love my mom, so I love my customers.”
